I am new here and been an amateur for years...lol It seems the Euro as consistently had the storm located more north than everyone else, maybe not a lot but enough to push the track. I may be way off here but I think the GFS will eventually move toward the Euro. Even just now the Weather Channel folks talked about they believed the center was under the swelling thunderstorms and the Hurricane Center guy said no the thunderstorms were actually to the north side of the center of circulation. Can someone smarter than me tell me if the MLC is pulling the LLC? If so, will the LLC just catch up? Is this why it keeps slowing a bit? does any of this make sense??
Wow...VIPIR has changed completely. Takes it right over the metro area.
Yep...we get slammed.
isn't that wonderful. still waiting on word from work for me. our emergency response team has already left for Houston. the rest of us are heading in to work tomorrow to see what we are supposed to do.

If VIPIR puts it right over the metro area, then it will probably make landfall 200 miles from NOLA. ;)
SKYSUMMIT: I'm thinking this hurricane season will keep us a little busy. Nothing scientific, but just the idea that it really hasn't been hyped that much.

PinkFreud: No offense to whomever keeps changing the look of this forum, but this white theme is driving me crazy. What happened to the nice blues and grays?

coffeecups: That 'some rain on Friday' became a tornado about 3 miles away (as the crow flies). What a surprise! Glad I didn't have any flooding!

SKYSUMMIT: Yea, other than maybe some rain on Friday, we may be in a dry stretch.

coffeecups: Came home to Harvey from Slidell. Had a little rain here and there. There was no rain in Slidell when I left at 3:30pm. While in NO EAST, I saw where it looked like it was storming around Covington going towards Slidell. Wet but no rain when I got home
