Yes, at least we have finally cooled and gotten rid of the muggies. Gotta wonder how much impact Nuri had on the global weather and perhaps we are still seeing some effects as we transition back to normal. With a pattern that is near El Nino, it sure is dry around here. Remember that January and February are when we usually get our colder weather. We were at 82 on Friday, 2 degrees below the record 84 set just last year. Still a little too far out to get specifics on Christmas, but looks like perhaps a wetter and cooler period.
Dylan hasn't posted in a long, long time....waiting for him to tell us to get our snow shovels. ;)
Let me ask you something, is it a coincidence that we haven't had any bad weather in forever? I check the site multiple times a day, as well as the models to see if something is on the horizon. Right now, nothing. I do think that we're long over due for some fun weather though.
Thanks for the kind words Sky! You know that saying, "There are no guarantees in life? Well, this winter is about as close as we will come! I will go on record and say that this will be the winter that we get SNOW!(both north and south shores). The pattern is following true to some of our coldest analog years! Models are starting to pick up on some of the key signals. The +PNA, -AO and -EPO all players in last years cold. The main difference this year will be a very active southern jet due to a weak El nino! I have great confidence!!!
coffeecups: Just like that S word, whenever something is not hyped, then it will probably happen.

SKYSUMMIT: I'm thinking this hurricane season will keep us a little busy. Nothing scientific, but just the idea that it really hasn't been hyped that much.

PinkFreud: No offense to whomever keeps changing the look of this forum, but this white theme is driving me crazy. What happened to the nice blues and grays?

coffeecups: That 'some rain on Friday' became a tornado about 3 miles away (as the crow flies). What a surprise! Glad I didn't have any flooding!

SKYSUMMIT: Yea, other than maybe some rain on Friday, we may be in a dry stretch.

coffeecups: Came home to Harvey from Slidell. Had a little rain here and there. There was no rain in Slidell when I left at 3:30pm. While in NO EAST, I saw where it looked like it was storming around Covington going towards Slidell. Wet but no rain when I got home
