TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL 200 PM EDT FRI JUL 29 2016
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
A tropical wave located about 1100 miles east of the Lesser Antilles is moving westward at 20-25 mph. The associated shower activity is poorly organized, and given the fast motion of the system any development should be slow to occur. Regardless of development, this system will likely bring showers and gusty winds to portions of the Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and the eastern Caribbean Sea during the weekend. By the middle of next week, the wave is expected to be in the western Caribbean Sea, where conditions could be more conducive for development. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent * Formation chance through 5 days...low...30 percent

And Zach once again throws water on the flames of tropical excitement: ;)
"Don't let these graphics concern you. It's easy to see this as a potential storm track but it's a tropical outlook that is tracking tropical waves that MAY become something. Chances remain very low they ever become anything and if they do, it will be when they are way out there. The Atlantic remains very dry and not favorable for hurricane development. The graphic is very shareable and without the right context, it makes it look like a storm is coming into the Gulf. That just isn't the case."

coffeecups: Came home to Harvey from Slidell. Had a little rain here and there. There was no rain in Slidell when I left at 3:30pm. While in NO EAST, I saw where it looked like it was storming around Covington going towards Slidell. Wet but no rain when I got home

Mar 25, 2017 7:16:52 GMT -6
coffeecups: Somewhere around 1956 and 1958 it snowed so much that I thought I was in a blizzard. Of course I was only a child then, but the memory of that has NOT been met or surpassed.
